Taming The Remodeling Beast: Making It Simpler

Three Minor Upgrades You Need In Your Bathroom Remodel

While it may not be the biggest room or the one you spend the most time in, few would argue that the bathroom is not extremely important in its own way. It is one of the most popular rooms in the house to remodel because of how quickly technology relating to it can change, but a lot of the time what concerns homeowners revolves more around stylistic choices. Before you finalize your bathroom remodel, here are a few minor technical upgrades that you should consider to make your experience in your bathroom so much better than it has been in the past.

Heated Towel Racks

Heated towel racks are a tiny upgrade that do not cost close to what it would set you back to heat your entire floor (although that too is a great upgrade if you have the money), but it can have such a huge impact. Winters can be long and hard in many parts of the country and stepping out of the shower or bath is an incredibly unpleasant procedure that is only marginally improved by your waiting towel. However, if that towel was heated with a towel rack then you would instantly go from warm water to a warm, fluffy towel with no annoying downtime.

Shower Drain Catch

If you have long hair, or anyone in your house has long hair then you know how annoying it can be to remove all of that gunk out of your shower drain every once in a while. With a more modern shower drain catch, you can remove the hair and soap scum that builds up in your drain and avoid the smell and build-up of water during your showers. Drain catches are easy to find and common in new houses, so it is definitely something you need to consider when upgrading your bathroom.

Skylight

While this may be more of an aesthetic feature, adding in a skylight is particularly enchanting for a few reasons. For one, it adds a lot more natural light which gives your bathroom a much more comforting feel, while also reducing your power bill. Many people also love the sight and sound of rain splashing above them and taking a shower when that is happening feels quite special. Overall it is an aesthetic choice, but one that grounds your bathroom in nature and makes it feel so much more unique without changing anything too dramatically.
